Rolls-Royce Spectre Bailey: Goodwood’s Most Pampered Dog

Rolls-Royce has already catered for almost every kind of new-model specification requested by eccentric millionaires. Yet the inspiration behind this Spectre is more unexpected still.

Bailey, a Labrador–Golden Retriever cross, became the unlikely muse for this one-off Rolls-Royce Spectre. This example of Goodwood’s new all-electric model was even given its own name: Spectre Bailey.

Rolls-Royce Spectre Bailey: a bespoke tribute

Its exclusive paint finish is called “Crystal Fusion over Beautiful Bailey”. The colour was developed from the shade of the family pet’s ears - a detail that is as charismatic as it is surprising.

Inside, the most luxurious setting is finished in Moccasin and Crème Light, complemented by Dark Spice and Casden Tan accents.

The most striking feature of this Rolls-Royce Spectre, however, is the woodwork on the rear panel between the seats. Made from more than 180 individual pieces of wood, it forms a faithful portrait of the dog.

As Rolls-Royce leaves nothing to chance, even the hand-painted coachline was tailored to suit: it is finished in rose gold and includes Bailey’s paw print.

How much did it cost?

A Rolls-Royce has a UK starting price of roughly £330,000 (around €378,000) and can easily exceed €400,000 by a considerable margin with only a few options. On top of the car’s price comes the cost of the work carried out by Rolls-Royce Bespoke, the British manufacturer’s division dedicated to such projects.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre Crystal Fusion over Beautiful Bailey is estimated to be worth around €1 million. Rolls-Royce does not disclose the final prices of these one-off personalisations, which it calls “commissions of inestimable value”. Is it worth the price? Bailey’s owner is undoubtedly delighted with this creation, which immortalises their loyal companion - and that is priceless.

While a Rolls-Royce tailored to a customer’s preferences is no longer unusual, what about a British luxury electric car dedicated to a four-legged friend? Without knowing it, Bailey has just made history as Goodwood’s most pampered dog.
